Vidmar winning company of the smart Catalonia Challenge
Last thursday, January 30, in the Port of Tarragona (Spain), the Smart Catalonia Challenge awards were presented, where four companies that contributed solutions to the four challenges posed for improving port operations were awarded. The winning companies were Bioidenti-Cell, Quo Vadis, Herta Security and Vidmar.
The Minister of Digital Policies and Public Administration, Jordi Puigneró, and the President of the Port of Tarragona, Josep Maria Cruset, presided over the competition, in which there were ten finalist companies.
Vidmar was chosen as the winner of the “Automatic identification of goods” challenge, the objective of which is to determine whether the trucks leave the port area loaded or unloaded. To date, there is a data on the trucks that are loaded because the port authority receives the loader companies. In the case of unloaded trucks, a visual inspection is carried out, so the solution provided by Vidmar based on the TRS.Net platform allows these checks to be automated using license plate reading and axle weighing.
With this award Vidmar will have access to the Mobile World Congress, visibility at the Smart City Expo in Barcelona and business opportunities with the port of Tarragona.
